Do you find yourself unable to sit properly without back support? Or does your shoulder blade hurt when you lie down at night?
Easy tips that will help you improve your posture in no time.
First, Straighten Up
Standing up tall is one of the best ways to prevent posture-related problems. All you need to do is stand straight with your back against the wall (like you would when measuring your height).
Hold your head straight like its stretched towards the sky, and do not let your booty stick out. Your shoulders should touch the wall and your chin and belly should be completely tucked in.
Do this for at least 10 minutes every day if you wish to improve your posture.
Second,Get A Firm Mattress
Sleeping time is no excuse to slack off. Sure, sleeping on that soft mattress might feel like heaven, but ideally, you should sleep on a firm mattress that contours to your spine’s natural shape.
If you are a side sleeper, you can bend your knees slightly. Sleeping on your stomach is a complete no-no.
Similarly, choose a thin pillow that levels your head with your spine. Do choose a hard or thick pillow that elevates your neck too much as this will cause neck pain.
And third, Ditch The Heels Whenever Possible
This one is for the ladies. We know you love heels, but your posture does not. Heels can thrust the base of your spine forward and also put pressure on your knees, which in turn causes pressure on your nerves and results in back pain.
If you really need to wear heels, then choose lower and more comfortable heels (like wedges) for daily wear.
